MACDONALD TO REPRESENT CAYMAN ISLANDS AT COMMONWEALTH GAMES

University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's swimming team distance feestyle specialist Connor Macdonald has been selected to represent the Cayman Islands at the 2026 Commonwealth Games scheduled to take place in Glasgow, Scotland from July 23 - August 2.

Hailing from George Town, Cayman Islands, Macdonald just completed his second season with the Varsity Blues. The kinseiology major has appeared at two OUA Championships earning Top 10 results in both the 400 and 1500 freestyle events at the provincial championship this past season, including a career best fifth place finish in the 400.

Macdonald has been a consistent presence representing the Cayman Islans at international events previously competing at the 2023 Youth Commonwealth Games, the 2023 and 2022 Central American and Caribbean Games, and the past three Caribbean Swimming Championships.

Swimming is scheduled for July 24 with prelims set for an early morning sessions and finals occurring later that same day. For further details on the international showcase visit Glasgow 2026.
