Box Score The Varsity Blues women’s volleyball team defeated the Queen’s Gaels 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-23) on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 9) at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym.
With the win, the Blues improve to 10-7 and move into fifth place, while the Gaels drop to 12-5 and sit tied for third with the Ryerson Rams (12-4). Toronto has won their past five games, dropping only two sets in the process.
Third-year standout Charlotte Sider (Ottawa) tallied a team-high 10 kills, while veteran Rebecca Crosier added eight kills on the day. Julia Bellehumeur recorded 22 assists and Denise Wooding led all players with nine digs in the win.
Gaels Colleen Ogilvie notched a game-high 11 kills, with Katie Neville adding nine kills in the loss.
The Blues wrap up the regular season tomorrow afternoon as they host the RMC Paladins at the AC Sports Gym. Toronto will be honouring their senior athletes prior to opening serve at 1 p.m.
