SEVEN STRAIGHT WINS FOR WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

Box Score Veterans Charlotte Sider and Jennifer Neilson combined for 26 kills as the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's volleyball team defeated the Queen's Gaels 3-1 (25-19, 19-25, 25-22, 25-18) on Saturday night (Nov. 23) at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym.

Toronto's seventh straight win gives them an 8-2 record and leaves them in a three-way tie for first in the OUA East division with the York Lions and Ottawa Gee-Gees.

Sider (Ottawa) tallied a team-high 14 kills, while adding 12 digs and two blocks, with Neilson notching 12 kills, 10 digs and three blocks on the night.

Bojana Radan added seven kills and three blocks, while Tessa Davis had six kills and three blocks. Malena Rapaport recorded 35 assists and 12 digs, while Kate Lonergan had 20 digs in the win.

Queen's was led by Kelsey's Bishop's game-high 17 kills in the loss.

The Varsity Blues return to action in the new year as they head to Edmonton for the University of Alberta New Years Classic, January 3-5.
