FOURTH-QUARTER DROUGHT DROPS BLUES

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team dropped a 75-55 decision to the Lakehead Thunderwolves on Friday, November 22 in Thunder Bay, Ont.

With the loss, the Blues drop to 2-4 and sit in eighth place in the OUA East division.

Fifth-year guard Alex Hill (Toronto) led the Blues with 21 points, going 12-for-16 from the free throw line. Fellow veteran Dylan Churchill added 15 points, including four three-pointers, in the loss.

Down 34-25 at halftime, the Blues rallied in the third quarter to close the gap to four (52-48) heading into the fourth quarter. Toronto struggled through the last 10 minutes of action, with Lakehead outscoring them 23-7 to come away with the lopsided victory.

Andrew McCarthy and Anthony McIntosh led the Thunderwolves with 16 points apiece, while Dqayne Harvey added 15 points and seven boards in the win.

The Varsity Blues look to bounce back tomorrow night as they head to Guelph to take on the Gryphons. Game time is set for 8 p.m.
