Box Score The Varsity Blues men’s basketball team fell 97-72 to the York Lions on Friday, January 18 at Tait McKenzie Centre.
 
Toronto’s eighth consecutive loss drops them to 2-10 and six points out of sixth place in the OUA East division.
 
Four Varsity Blues hit double digits in the loss. Fourth-year guard Alex Hill (Toronto) led the team with 21 points, going 9-for-11 from the free throw line.

Fifth-year veterans Arun Kumar (Hamilton, Ont.) and Ben Garvin (Holland Landing, Ont.) had 13 and 14 points, respectively, while Nick Irvine tallied a career-high 10 points and eight boards on the night.
 
York’s David Tyndale led all players with 28 points, seven assists and six rebounds. Aaron Rados had 19 points and a team-high seven boards, while Raheem Isaac notched 14 points in the win.
 
The Varsity Blues look to bounce back tomorrow night as they head to Sudbury, Ont., to take on the Laurentian Voyageurs (6-6). Game time is set for 8 p.m.
