BLUES GO 1-1 IN GUELPH

The Varsity Blues baseball team defeated the Guelph Gryphons 5-4 before dropping Game 2 1-0 on Saturday, September 29 at Hastings Stadium.
 
Jonathan Isaac led the Blues with two hits and one RBI in the first game of the day. The Blues found themselves down 3-1 after the first inning, but a three-run second inning saw them take back the lead for good.
 
Marek Deska pitched the complete game, striking out nine and allowing four hits in seven innings of work.
 
The Gryphons scored the lone run of the second game in the bottom of the fifth inning off a hit from Kyle Winters. Drew Taylor pitched a full six innings for the Blues, striking out three and allowing only three hits.
 
The Varsity Blues return to the field tomorrow as they travel to Hamilton, Ont., to take on the McMaster Marauders.
