Box Score The Varsity Blues men’s volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-17, 25-9, 25-22) to the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday, November 24 in Waterloo, Ont.
Veterans Mitchell Woodside (Clyde River, P.E.I.) and Jay Tremonti (Dryden, Ont.) led the Blues with six kills apiece.
Third-year libero and Toronto native Matthew Vares totalled nine digs, while team captain Michael Denton (Scarborough) added 22 assists in the loss.
The Warriors (8-1) were led by Aleks Poldma’s seven kills, seven digs and three blocks.
The Blues head into the December break at 2-7 and in a three-way tie for seventh place in the OUA standings.
The Varsity Blues return to the court on Friday, January 11 as they head to Hamilton, Ont., to take on the McMaster Marauders. Game time is set for 8 p.m.
