GRYPHONS GET PAST BLUES

Box Score The Varsity Blues women’s volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision (25-23, 19-25, 23-25, 23-25) decision to the Guelph Gryphons on Friday night (Nov. 23) at W. F. Mitchell Athletic Centre.
 
With the loss, the Blues drop to 4-4 and sit tied for fifth place in the OUA standings.
 
Fourth-year outside hitter Alexandra Hudson of Mississauga, Ont., led all players with 16 kills and 22 digs, while both Sarah Chapin and Charlotte Sider had 10 apiece in the loss. Sider has now totalled double-digit points in 8-of-9 games so far.
 
Julia Belleheur and Madelyn Mandryk split duties at setter, totalling 21 and 22 assists, respectively.
 
Julie Gordon led the Gyrphons with 13 kills in the win.
 
The Varsity Blues return to action tomorrow as they travel to Waterloo, Ont., to take on the Warriors. Game time is set for 8 p.m.
