The Varsity Blues travel to take on the Western Mustangs and Windsor Lancers this weekend (Nov. 23-24) in OUA men’s and women’s basketball action.
The Blues play in London, Ont., on Friday when they take on the Mustangs, before heading to Windsor for a double header with the Lancers on Saturday night. All four games will be streamed live with links on varsityblues.ca.
Toronto’s women are 4-0 and remain the only undefeated OUA East team. The Mustangs (2-2) will look to better their .500 record, while the CIS defending champion Lancers (4-0) are out for revenge after the Blues claimed an 81-80 home court victory last season.
Fourth-year guard Jasmine Lewin (Brampton, Ont.) leads the Blues with 13 points per game, while Niagara Falls, Ont., native and forward Amanda Lauzon ranks second in the province with 42 rebounds in four games.
U of T’s men are 2-2 and tied with York for sixth place in the OUA East. Western (0-4) will be after their first win of the season, while the Lancers (3-1) battle to keep the top spot in the West.
Toronto native Alex Hill leads the Blues and ranks 10
th in the OUA with 17.5 points per game. Fifth-year guard Arun Kumar of Hamilton, Ont., is also off to a stellar start, with 16 points per game so far this season.
The Blues return home the following weekend (Nov. 30-Dec. 1) when they host the McMaster Marauders and Brock Badgers at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym.
