Box Score Fourth-year guard Alex Hill led all players with 27 points as the Varsity Blues men’s basketball team defeated the Waterloo Warriors 71-64 on Saturday, November 17 in Waterloo, Ont.
With the win, the Blues improve to 2-2 after two weeks of OUA basketball action, while the Warriors drop to 0-3 on the season.
A Toronto native, Hill was 4-for-6 from beyond the arc, while adding five rebounds, two assists and one steal. Fifth-year forward Ben Garvin (Holland Landing, Ont.) recorded 13 points and seven boards, while Arun Kumar (Hamilton, Ont.) added 11 points in the win.
Five different Waterloo players notched double digits, with Kyrie Coleman leading the team with 15 points and nine rebounds.
The Varsity Blues return to action next Friday, November 23 as they travel to London, Ont., to take on the Western Mustangs. Game time is set for 8 p.m.
