BLUES MARCH OVER RMC

Box Score The Varsity Blues men’s basketball team notched their fourth win of the season with a 92-36 decision over the RMC Paladins on Friday night (Jan. 6) in Kingston, Ont.

Five players hit double digits in the win.  Fourth-year guard Arun Kumar of Hamilton, Ont., tallied a game-high 13 points, while Matt Savel, Alex Hill, Justin Holmes and Drazen Glisic each had 10 points. Fifth-year forward Andrew Wasik of Burnaby, B.C., had eight points and led all players with nine boards.

“It was a good team effort,” said associate head coach Rick Dilena. “We were able to play a lot of guys and they all played well in their time. Matt [Savel] and Sean [Nickel] both had strong games off the bench.”

The Blues stormed out to a 24-4 lead after the first quarter.  With a 68-33 advantage heading into the fourth, Toronto again held the Paladins to a mere three points to come away with a dominant win.

The Varsity Blues return to action tomorrow night as they take on the Queen’s Gaels in Kingston, Ont. Tip off is set for 8 p.m.
