The Varsity Blues men’s volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-10) to the Queen’s Gaels on Sunday afternoon (Jan. 29) at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym.
Second-year leftside hitter and Scarborough, Ont., native Matthew Vares led the Blues with seven kills, while Jake Dysselhof had six and Mitchell Woodside had five. Michael Denton recorded a team-high six digs and Alex Park notched 12 assists in the loss.
Queen’s was led by Joren Zeeman, who had a game-high 12 kills. Niko Rukavina added 10 digs in the win.
The Varsity Blues return to the court this Friday, February 3 as they travel to Guelph, Ont., to take on the Gryphons. Game time is set for 8 p.m.
