BLUES POUND PALADINS IN LOPSIDED WIN

Box Score Five players hit double digits as the Varsity Blues women’s basketball team defeated the RMC Paladins 87-39 on Saturday night (Jan. 28) at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym.

The win lifts Toronto to a 12-5 record as they remain tied with the Carleton Ravens for second place in the OUA East.

Jill Stratton (Etobicoke, Ont.) led all players with 19 points, while fellow sophomore Liane Bailey added 14 points and six boards.  Veteran forward Megan Stonicue of Mississauga, Ont., notched 12 points, while both Kristy Chute and Rachel Sider had 10 points in the win. 

RMC’s Sandy Edmison led the visiting team with 11 points and seven rebounds in the loss.

The Varsity Blues return to the court next Friday, February 3 when they travel across town to take on the Ryerson Rams. Tip off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
