Box Score The Varsity Blues men’s basketball team dropped a 78-60 decision to the McMaster Marauders on Friday, December 2 at Burridge Gym in Hamilton, Ont.
Arun Kumar tallied a team-high 13 points in his hometown and added four assists on the night. Sarajevo, BIH native Drazen Glisic had eight points and seven boards, while Alex Hill of Toronto also had eight points in the loss.
After a back-and-forth first half, which saw Toronto hold a 20-19 lead after the first quarter and McMaster gain a 40-35 advantage at halftime, the Marauders picked up the pace to outscore the Blues 23-11 and gain a 17-point lead (63-46) heading into the final frame.
The two teams exchanged baskets throughout the fourth with Toronto unable to mount a come back. The loss drops the Blues to 3-4 as they sit in a three-way tie for second with the Ottawa Gee-Gees and Ryerson Rams.
McMaster was led by Victor Raso’s 19 points and eight boards, while Cam Michaud had 12 points in the win.
The Varsity Blues return to the court tomorrow night as they head to St. Catharines, Ont, to take on the Brock Badgers. Tip off is set for 8 p.m.
