BLUES BUMP BADGERS, KEEP WINNING STREAK ALIVE

The Varsity Blues women’s volleyball team notched their fifth-straight win with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-23) victory over the Brock Badgers on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 6) in St. Catharines, Ont.

With the win, the Blues remain a perfect 5-0 and sit atop the OUA standings.

“The players have brought their best and are working together to become better every day,” said Varsity Blues head coach Kristine Drakich, now in her 23rd season as U of T’s bench boss. “They enjoy competing and have been able to capitalize on the opportunities they have created in all of our matches.”

Second-year rightside hitter Charlotte Sider of Ottawa led the team with 14 points, while third-year standout Alexandra Hudson (Mississauga, Ont.) tallied 13 points on the day.  Third-year setter Malena Rapaport also contributed with 15 digs in the win.

The Varsity Blues return to the court next Saturday, November 12 as they host the Windsor Lancers at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
