Charlotte Sider and Shannon Rossall tallied 15 points each as the Varsity Blues women’s volleyball team defeated the RMC Paladins 3-1 (17-25, 25-14, 25-20, 25-22) in their 2011-12 season opener in Kingston, Ont.

Sider tallied a team-high 14 kills, while Rossall added 10 kills, two aces, six digs and four blocks on the day.  Second-year leftside hitter Rebecca Crosier had eight kills and 13 digs and both Alexandra Hudson and Devan O’Connor had 11 points in the win.

Norah Collins led the Paladins with 15 kills and 24 digs for a game-high 24 points in the loss.

The Varsity Blues return to the court next Friday, October 28 as they host the Lakehead Thunderwolves in their 2011-12 home opener at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym.  Game time is set for 6 p.m.
