BLUES BLANK PALADINS IN SEASON OPENER

The Varsity Blues men’s volleyball team opened their 2011-12 campaign with a 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-22) victory over the RMC Paladins on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 22) in Kingston, Ont.

Fourth-year rightside hitter Mitchell Woodside of Clyde River, P.E.I., led the Blues with a game-high 19 kills.  Matthew Vares added 13 kills, while fellow sophomore Jake Dysselhof had 11 kills and seven digs in the win.

RMC was led by Sean Vanthournout’s 11 points in the loss.

The Varsity Blues return to action next Sunday, October 30 as they travel north to take on the York Lions.  Game time is set for 2 p.m.
