The Varsity Blues women's volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-175, 27-25, 25-14) to the Queen’s Gaels on Friday, January 28 in Kingston, Ont.
With the loss, the Blues drop to 5-10 and remain in fourth place, while the Gaels improve to 10-3 and tied for second place with the Ottawa Gee-Gees in the OUA East division.
Rookie Charlotte Sider of Ottawa was the top scorer for the Blues with nine kills on the night.
Veteran hitter Karlee Diesing of Coquitlam, B.C. followed up with eight kills of her own, while Alexandra Hudson (Mississauga, Ont.) had four in the loss.
Lorna Button of Newcastle, Ont. led the Gaels with a game-high 11 kills. Katie Matthews of Aurora, Ont., and Natalie Gray (Oshawa, Ont.) recorded eight and nine kills, respectively in the win.
The Varsity Blues women's volleyball team return to the court tomorrow afternoon when they take on the RMC Paladins in Kingston. The game is scheduled for 2 p.m.
