The Varsity Blues men's volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 29-27) to the Queen's Gaels on Friday, January 28 in Kingston, Ont.
Despite the Blues best efforts, the Gaels managed to take the upper hand this game; however, Toronto put up a strong effort, ending the final set with an extremely tight 29-27 final score.
For Toronto, Ottawa native Adam Palmer was at it again, notching 10 kills throughout the match. Matthew Vares of Scarborogh, Ont. and Jake Dysselhof of Mississauga, Ont., each recorded eight kills, followed by third-year Mitchell Woodside of Clyde River, P.E.I. with six kills in the loss.
Niko Rukavina (Mississauga, Ont.) dominated on the Gaels side with a game-high 18 kills to his name. Rukavina was backed up by teammates and Toronto natives Matthew Taylor, who scored 10 kills and Michael Amoroso with seven kills.
The Varsity Blues men's volleyball team return to take on the RMC Paladins on Saturday, January 29 in Kingston. The game is set for 4 p.m.
