HILL LEADS BLUES TO BIG ROAD WIN OVER NO. 7 MUSTANGS

Box Score Second-year forward Alex Hill tallied 25 points to lead the Varsity Blues men’s basketball team to a 92-64 victory over the Western Mustangs on Saturday, November 13 in London, Ont.

With the win, the Blues improve to 3-1, while the Mustangs drop to 2-2 after the first two weeks of the 2010-11 OUA basketball season.

Both teams were evenly matched throughout the first half, with Toronto holding a slight 43-36 lead after two quarters of play.

From there, the Blues extended their lead and didn’t look back, outscoring the home team 49-28 over the next two frames.

A native of Toronto, Hill added four assists and three steals to his game-high 25 points, while fourth-year forward Drazen Glisic of Sarajevo, BIH recorded a double-double with18 points and 10 boards. Guards Justin Holmes and Arun Kumar each had 14 points in the win.

Western was led by Brett Lawrence, who had 13 points, while Marcus Barnett and Andrew Wedemire had 12 each in the loss.

The Varsity Blues return to action next Friday, November 19 when they host the Brock Badgers at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym. Tip off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
