BLUES DROP 3-1 DECISION TO GEE-GEES

The Varsity Blues women’s volleyball team fell 3-1 (20-25, 20-25, 30-28, 19-25) in a close match versus the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Sunday, October 24 at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym.

Fifth-year leftside hitter Karlee Diesing of Coquitlam, B.C., led the Blues with 13 kills, while rookie Charlotte Sider (Ottawa) had seven kills and eight digs. First-year setter Malena Rapaport of Vancouver continues to impress, tallying 23 assists and 12 digs in the loss.

Ottawa was led by Melissa Morelli’s 13-kill and 14-dig performance. Laura Carmanico had 11 kills and 11 digs, while Myriam English totalled 10 kills in the win.

The Varsity Blues return to action next Friday, October 29 when they travel down the street to take on the Ryerson Rams. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
