The University of Toronto Varsity Blues baseball team dropped both games of the doubleheader to the Western Mustangs on Sunday, Sept. 6 at Emslie Field in St. Thomas, Ont.
The Blues lost a close 4-2 decision in the first game and again came up short in the second, losing 6-1.
Toronto found themselves down 4-0 after four innings before Chris Dahiroc (Ajax, Ont.) and Tyler Wilson (Kitchener, Ont.) each batted in a run in the sixth and seventh innings, respectively. However, it was too little too late, as the Blues were unable to complete the comeback in game one.
U of T’s lone bright spot in game two came in the bottom of the sixth inning when Dahiroc recorded his second RBI of the day as he drove in David Fallico (Toronto) for the Blues only run.
The Blues return to action next Saturday, Sept. 12 when they host the Waterloo Warriors in a doubleheader home opener at University of Toronto Scarborough Campus. Game times are scheduled for 12 and 2:30 p.m.
