MEN’S VOLLEYBALL DOWNS PALADINS 3-1

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s volleyball team defeated the RMC Paladins 3-1 (20-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-23) on Saturday, November 22 in Kingston, Ont. 

The Paladins started out with the lead, taking the first set 25-20, however the Blues answered back in the second match, winning it 25-22. The Blues continued their streak in the next two sets, taking the third 25-21, and winning the game with a close fourth match 25-23. 

Left side hitter Mike Manning (Vernon, B.C.) was the high scorer with an impressive 18 kills and eight digs, while Mitchell Woodside (Clyde River, P.E.I) also posted impressive numbers with 13 kills and five digs of his own. 

Paul Demers was an asset to the Paladins, landing a game-high 28 kills and six digs. 

The Varsity Blues return to action next Saturday, November 28 when they travel to Hamilton, Ont. to take on the McMaster Marauders. The game is scheduled for 1 p.m.
