The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women’s volleyball team defeated the RMC Paladins 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-13) on Saturday, November 21 in Kingston, Ont.
The Paladins were unable to block Heather Bansley’s impressive kills as she led the Blues to victory. The Waterdown, Ont. native skilfully landed 12 kills, nine digs and five serving aces making her the high-scorer of the game. Fifth-year veteran Kristina Valjas (Toronto, Ont.) was impressive as well, tallying eight kills in the win.
Middle blocker Melissa McCoy (Kingston, Ont.) pulled through for the Paladins with seven kills and three digs, while Norah Collins (Cedar Valley, Ont.) had six kills in the loss.
The Varsity Blues return to action next Friday, November 27 as they travel to St. Catharines, Ont. to take on the Brock Badgers. The game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
