MEN’S SQUASH FALLS TO REDMEN, GAELS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s squash team opened their 2009 regular with two tough losses on Sunday, November 15 at McGill University.

The Blues fell 5-1 to the McGill Redmen in their first match of the OUA East sectional. Shahan Khatchadourian managed the lone victory in the number four position and Greg Razckowski was able to take his match to five games.

Toronto’s number one Adrian Pond came closest to a win as the Blues fell 6-0 to the Queen’s Gaels in their second match of the day.

On Saturday, U of T travelled to Canton, New York for an exhibition match-up versus St. Lawrence University. The Saints are ranked No. 15 in the U.S.A. and proved to be touch competition, as the Blues fell 12-0. Jason Tan came closest to a win in the number three position as he fell 11-9 in the fifth game.

The Varsity Blues return to action Dec-4-5 when they travel to Clinton, New York for an exhibition match against Hamilton College.
