The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women’s water polo team defeated the Queen’s Gaels 18-3 on Sunday, November 15 at Carleton University campus.
Forth-year history student Laura Shaw (Vancouver, B.C.) tallied a game-high seven goals in Toronto’s seventh win of the season.
Nicole Brown (Burlington, Ont.) was next up for the Blues, scoring four goals, followed by Nicole Mackenzie (Burlington, Ont.) and Brittany Sinclair (Scarborough, Ont.) with two goals apiece.
Katrina Keenan-Pelletier (Ottawa, Ont.) scored two goals for the Gaels and Carla Henderson (Nanaimo, B.C.) snuck her last shot past the Blues.
Stéphanie Le Saux-Farmer (Ottawa, Ont.), Casey Pottier (Kitchener, Ont.) and Danielle Zanardo (Toronto, Ont.) also added single tallies for Toronto.
The Varsity Blues women’s water polo team return to the pool November 28-29 for the 2009 OUA championships hosted by McMaster University.
