The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s volleyball team fell 3-0 to the Western Mustangs on Sunday, October 25 in London, Ont.
The Blues dropped three close games to the Mustangs, falling 22-25, 21-25, 19-25.
Fifth-year veteran Steven Kung (Toronto) led all players with 13 kills, while Mike Manning (Vernon, B.C.) tallied six.
The Mustangs were led by Eric Simon’s 13 kills and 11 digs as well as nine kills from Mathew Waite. Kyle Bryce garnered six kills and 10 digs in the victory.
The Varsity Blues return to the court next Friday, October 30 as they host the Guelph Gryphons in their 2009-10 home opener at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
