MEN’S BASKETBALL GIVES RMC THE BLUES

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s basketball team came away with an 86-44 victory over the RMC Paladins on Friday, January 30 at the Kingston Military Community Sports Centre.

The Blues out-scored the Paladins by at least 10 points in each quarter to secure the 42-point win.

Eleven different Blues played double-digit minutes with all but one scoring. Second-year guard Justin Holmes (Toronto) led the way, going 6-for-10 from beyond the arc, with a game-high 22 points.

Andrew Wasik (Burnaby, B.C.) and Patrick Sewell (London, Ont.) tallied 10 and 11 points, respectively, while Anthony DeGiorgio (Toronto) and Ben Garvin (Holland Landing, Ont.) added eight points apiece in the victory. Wasik also led all players with nine boards.

Nicholas Cooke (Toronto) and Simon Dakin (Comox, B.C.) led the Paladins with 14 points each in the loss.

The Varsity Blues return to action tomorrow night as they take on the Queen’s Gaels at the Bartlett Gymnasium in Kingston, Ont. Game time is scheduled for 8 p.m.
