The University of Toronto Varsity Blues baseball team defeated the Waterloo Warriors 13-9 on Sunday, September 21 at Jack Couch park in Waterloo, Ont.
The Blues had a 5-0 lead over the Warriors after four innings. The Warriors made things interesting, scoring three runs in both the fifth and sixth innings. Toronto fought back and had a solid finish to an exciting game, scoring three runs in the eighth and ninth innings to come away with a thrilling 13-9 win over the Warriors.
David Fallico and Chris Dahiroc each recorded four hits and two RBIs. Ryan Donnelly and Clint Jeon shared the pitching duties for the Blues, amassing six strike outs in the victory.
The Varsity Blues travel to Waterloo again this Saturday, September 27 for a double header against the Laurier Golden Hawks. Game times are scheduled for 1 and 3:30 p.m.
