BLUES VOLLEYBALL FALL TO MARAUDERS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s and women’s volleyball teams fell to the McMaster Marauders on Saturday, October 25 in Hamilton.

The women got off to a slow start and were not able to bouncing back, losing 3-1 (7-25, 12-25, 25-15, 15-25) to the Marauders.

Heather Bansley (Waterdown, Ont.) had a game-high 13 kills and nine digs for the Blues. Kathleen Mahannah (Vancouver, B.C.) recorded 27 assists and eight digs in the loss.

In men’s action, Toronto dropped all three games (23-25, 14-25, 20-25) to McMaster on Saturday night.

Jessi Lelliott (Kelowna, B.C.) led the Blues with seven kills and five digs.

The Varsity Blues host the Queen’s Gaels in their 2008-09 home openers on Friday, October 31 at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym. The women get underway at 6 p.m. with the men to follow at 8 p.m.
