Fourth-year forward Nicki Schutz tallied 38 points and 22 rebounds, leading the Varsity Blues women’s basketball team to two key divisional wins this weekend.

Schutz recorded her first double-double of the weekend in a 73-44 victory over the RMC Paladins on Friday night. The Toronto native had 14 points and 11 boards in just 22 minutes of play.

The 6-foot-1 forward then led all players with 24 points, 11 boards, five assists and four steals as Toronto defeated the third-place Queen’s Gaels 70-61 on Saturday. Schutz went 9-for-16 from the floor and was a perfect 5-of-5 from the free throw line.

The physical education and health student is currently ranked third in the OUA with 17.50 points and 10.85 boards per game.

Honourable mention: Kristina Valjas (Women's Volleyball) - 20 kills, 11digs, four blocks and one serving ace in a 3-2 loss to the West-leading McMaster Marauders.
