Gabe Mastromatteo led the Varsity Blues men's swimming team to their 19th straight OUA championship title and a fourth-place finish at the U SPORTS national championships this season.  Mastromatteo was named the U SPORTS men's swimmer of the year and earned U SPORTS first team all-Canadian honours after record-breaking performances in the 50 and 100 breaststroke events. He also earned silver in the 200 breaststroke and 400 medley relay at the U SPORTS championships.
 
At the OUA championships, the 2020 Olympian was named the OUA men's swimmer of the year and a first team all-star. He broke the OUA record in the 50 breaststroke and helped U of T to a record-breaking performance in the 400 medley relay, in addition to winning the 100 breaststroke and 200 freestyle relay events.  Mastromatteo also earned the 200 breaststroke silver medal and claimed bronze in the 50 butterfly at OUA championships.
