Laura Upenieks is a 10-time OUA all-star, has been a member of seven straight OUA championship teams and won the Judy McCrae trophy as the OUA individual champion three times.
 
The PhD in sociology candidate was named U of T's Frank Pindar female athlete of the year in 2017-18 and U of T's OUA top scholar athlete in 2015-16. In the classroom, Upenieks is a six-time OUA academic achievement winner. She is a three-time recipient of both the Canadian graduate scholarship and the U of T fellowship.

The multi-year team captain from Etobicoke, Ont., is a volunteer coach within the Etobicoke and Oakville Basketball Association, serves as a clinician for junior golfers and was a presenter for the Golf Ontario Association regarding how to increase women's involvement in 2018.
