Kylie Masse capped off her Varsity Blues career in dominant fashion, earning OUA and U SPORTS female swimmer of the year honours. The 2016 Olympic bronze medalist and 2017 FINA world champion won four individual and two relay gold medals, while breaking four OUA records in the process.

A kinesiology major, Masse earned OUA major grand slams in the 50 and 100 backstroke events and the grand slam in the 200 backstroke. The swimming phenom finishes her career undefeated at the OUA championships, having never lost a race.

At nationals, the LaSalle, Ont., native earned three grand slam awards in the backstroke events, while also earning silver in the 50 butterfly.  She helped lead the Blues to gold-medal victories in all three relays, including two Canadian club and three U SPORTS records.

Prior to the intercollegiate season, Masse won the 100 and 200 backstroke events in record time and claimed silver medals in the 50 backstroke and 400 medley relay at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia. She was also named the female swimmer of the meet at the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships after winning the 100 backstroke in record time in Tokyo.
