Sam McCrory scored one goal and added two assist in leading the Varsity Blues field hockey team to a silver-medal finish at the 2021 U SPORTS championship this past weekend.

The second-year forward from Kitchener, Ont., scored U of T’s lone goal in regulation and added another in the shootout as the Blues took Game 1, 2-1, over the Victoria Vikes.

A kinesiology major, McCrory also assisted both goals in Toronto’s narrow 3-2 shootout loss to the Vikes in Game 3. The Blues national silver-medal marks their best finish since 2014.
