Sophomore standout Femi Akinduro successfully defended his national triple jump title at the 2020 U SPORTS championships in Edmonton this past weekend.

The Etobicoke, Ont., native jumped a personal best 15.22 metres to win his second straight U SPORTS gold medal.

A kinesiology major, Akinduro’s jump was almost a full half-metre farther than the silver medalists. He helped the Blues to a sixth-place team finish on the national stage.
