Fifth-year thrower Ezana Debalkew ended his five-year Varsity Blues career on the highest note possible.
The Markham, Ont., native won his second straight OUA men's weight throw title en route to first team all-star honours. He then went onto earn his first career all-Canadian nod, winning the U SPORTS national title.
A computer science major at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus, Debalkew bettered his own U of T men's weight throw record, throwing 18.83m to become the national champion. He helped the Blues to both OUA and U SPORTS silver-medal team finishes, the program's best result since the 1994-95 season.
