Third-year standout Matthew Mac won three individual and two relay gold medals in leading the Varsity Blues men’s swimming team to their 16th consecutive OUA banner this past weekend at Brock University.

The third-year commerce major swept the backstroke events. Mac tied for first place in the 50 backstroke on Day 1, before winning the 100-metre event by eight tenths of a second on Day 2. The Oakville, Ont., native capped it off with a dominant performance on Day 3, winning his second career OUA 200 backstroke title by 1.68 seconds.

Mac also helped U of T’s 200 freestyle and 400 medley relay teams to gold-medal finishes.
