The second-year fencer Emily Principe won the gold medal in the individual epee at the OUA championships in St. Catharines, Ont. She also earned a silver medal in the team epee event. This helped the Varsity Blues capture back to back OUA fencing championships and the 13th overall title in the school’s history.

The life sciences major from Sydney, Australia went through all competitors in the individual epee and capped it off beating Natasha Kis-Toth of the Ryerson Rams for gold. Principe also led the squad of Tiffany Shi, Sara Stonehouse and Aubrey Whittaker to a silver medal in the epee team event after falling to the Western Mustangs.
