First-year forward David Thomson scored one goal and added two assists as the Varsity Blues men’s hockey team went 1-1 this weekend.

Thomson potted the game-winning-goal and had one assist as the Blues notched their first win of the season, 4-3, at Waterloo on Saturday night. The humanities major from Vaughan, Ont., scored a beautiful top-shelf goal with 17 seconds remaining in overtime to seal the victory.

Thomson also had one assist in Toronto’s home-opening loss to the No. 8 Ryerson Rams on Friday night.
