A third-year right side hitter from Ottawa, Alina Dormann amassed 48.5 points and 18 digs in leading the Varsity Blues women’s volleyball team to two big road wins, which secured home-court advantage in the OUA quarter-finals.

Dormann notched a team-high 18.5 points off of 16 kills, 1.5 blocks and one ace, as well as eight digs, as the Varsity Blues overcame a two-set deficit to defeat the Queen’s Gaels 3-2 in Kingston on Friday night.

The life science major went onto record a game-high 20 points off of 18 kills, one ace and one block, while adding 10 digs, in a dominant 3-0 victory over RMC on Saturday.

Dormann averaged 6.1 points per set, well above the national leader at 4.8 points per set. She now leads the OUA with 3.69 kills, while ranking second with 4.6 points per set.
