Sacha Smart won two gold and two silver medals in leading the University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s track and field team to a fourth-place finish at the 2017 OUA championships this past weekend at York University.
 
Smart successfully defended his men’s 1000m title, crossing the finish line in 2:23.76. He also helped the Blues 4x400 relay team dominate the field from start to finish, running the third leg of the gold-medal winning team.
 
The fifth-year kinesiology major from Toronto earned a silver medal in a highly contested men’s 600m race in 1:19.05, while also helping the Blues to a second-place finish in the men’s 4x800 relay.
