Second-year swimmer Kyle Haas won two individual and one relay gold medal in helping the Varsity Blues men’s swimming team to victory over the Western Mustangs this past Saturday.

An economics major from Georgetown, Ont., Haas won the 100 and 200 backstroke events, both in CIS standard time. He touched the wall in 54.56 seconds in the 100-metre event, 2.64 seconds ahead the second-place swimmer.

Haas notched a time of 2:01.82 in the 200 backstroke, finishing a full second ahead of teammate Hochan Ryu. He also helped Toronto’s 200 freestyle relay team to a winning time of 1:34.13.
