A second-year backstroker from LaSalle, Ont., Kylie Masse won six gold medals, five in meet record time and one in Canadian record time in leading the Varsity Blues to the OUA Fairweather division title this past weekend.

Masse won and broke the Canadian 50-metre backstroke record, touching the wall in 26.84 seconds to better the previous mark of 27.00. She also won the 200 backstroke and helped the 200 freestyle relay team to gold on Day 1 of the meet.

The kinesiology major followed that up with another three wins on Sunday. Masse placed first in the 100 backstroke and 200 IM, and helped U of T’s 400 freestyle relay team to gold as well.

Toronto’s women won the division championships by a dominant 433 points.
