First-year second baseman Josh Jakymyc led the University of Toronto Varsity Blues baseball team to their first two wins of the 2009 OUA season this weekend. Jakymyc had a breakout day going five-of-seven as U of T split a doubleheader with the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday. 

 

Two-of-three in game one, the Toronto native went three-of-four, including a two-out double to bring in the go-ahead run in Toronto’s 12-3 victory over the Warriors. He also tallied three RBI in the Blues first victory of the season. 

 

On Sunday, the Faculty of Physical Education and Health student had one RBI, knocking in the opening run, in Toronto’s 3-1 victory over the Guelph Gryphons.
