Fifth-year left side hitter Charlotte Sider notched 36.5 points in leading the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's volleyball team to the 2015 OUA championship banner this past weekend (Feb. 20-21) in Guelph.
Sider notched a game-high 19 points as the No. 3 nationally ranked Blues defeated the No. 6 Ottawa Gee-Gees in a five-set thriller to claim the banner. The Ottawa native led all players with 15 kills, including the match-winner, while also adding 11 digs, two aces and two blocks in the win.
A kinesiology major, Sider also led the Blues with 17.5 points in their 3-2 semifinal win over Western on Friday night. The 2015 OUA East player of the year tallied 14 kills, five digs, 2.5 blocks and once ace to help U of T advance to their first championship final since 2010.Â
