Toronto’s Sasha Theron picked up two individual bronze medals, a relay silver medal and was the OUA’s top female swimmer at the 2009 CIS championships this weekend (Feb. 19-21) at UBC.

The Mississauga, Ont. native placed third in the women’s 50m butterfly in a time of 27.76 and also claimed the bronze in the 100m butterfly in 1:00.79.

In addition, the fine arts major helped lead the women’s 400m freestyle relay team to a silver medal, only finishing behind the CIS champion Calgary Dinos.

The Toronto women’s team finished with 369 points in third place, well ahead of the Laval Rouge et Or (295) and OUA champion Western Mustangs (255).
