Fifth-year receiver Paul de Pass broke four school records en route to becoming U of T’s most prolific receivers in a 50-18 victory over the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday.
In his final game as a Varsity Blue, the Ajax, Ont., native made seven catches for a career-high and U of T single-game record 232 yards and three touchdowns.
On a 67-yard touchdown reception, his second major of the day, de Pass broke U of T’s single seasons receiving yards record, bettering Francis Etienne’s 1995 season total of 860 yards. de Pass finished the season ranked second in the OUA and CIS with 970 receiving yards and 121.8 yards per game.
Later in the third quarter, de Pass topped two-time CIS all-Canadian Mark Magee’s career receiving yards record on a quick four-yard hitch route. He ends his career with 2,490 yards, topping Magee’s 2,385 record set between 1977-81.
de Pass ended his day with a bang, as he and QB Simon Nassar connected on a 103-yard strike for this third touchdown of the game. That play set the longest pass completion record at U of T, previously held by David Hamilton and Tony Mammoliti in 2005 (93-yards).Â
