Rookie wrestler Grace Bannerman placed sixth in the women’s 72kg category at the 2013 CIS championships, March 1-2, in London, Ont.
Bannerman fell, 2-0, 2-0, to Lakehead’s Kelsey Dayler in the fifth-place match on Saturday morning. She was named the recipient of the women's R.W. Pugh Fair Play Award for her efforts.
The Niagara on the Lake, Ont., native opened her first CIS national championship run with a 6-0 win over Memorial’s Carla Chaytor. She went onto fall 1-0, 3-0 to Regina’s Kristine Longeau and 4-0 to Brock’s Rebecca Levitt.
