Second-year standout Danielle Hirsh scored a team-high nine goals in leading the Varsity Blues to the OUA women’s water polo silver medal this weekend (Nov. 23-25) at Carleton.

The 2012 OUA all-star opened the tournament with two goals in a 9-2 win over the Ottawa Gee-Gees. Hirsch then led the Blues with four goals in a dominant 11-5 win over McMaster.

A native of Ottawa, Hirsh added a single tally as Toronto downed Queen’s 16-4 in their final round-robin match. The second-year kinesiology major added two goals in U of T’s narrow 6-5 shoot out loss to Carleton in the championship game.

MBNA believes that with personal drive and the right kind of support, someone who thrives on the playground can one day ascend the podium. MBNA is a long standing affinity partner of the University of Toronto, providing the U of T MasterCard® to over 50,000 students and alumni. Congratulations to the MBNA Athletes of the Week.
